Welcome to the club

The Harston and Haslingfield folk dancers invite you to come along to our fun evenings of music and dancing.

English folk dancing is very sociable and fun thing to do, and everyone is very friendly. It is a combination of several styles of dance historical English country dances of the 16 & 1700s, traditional English dances collected in the 1900s, and high energy contra dances. If you have ever been to a ceilidh, you will recognise the type of music and style of dancing.

It doesn’t matter if you have never done any of this before as our expert callers talk us through each dance and call out the moves as we go.

There isn’t any fancy footwork and we encourage new members of any age! (Under 18s with an adult please).

Many of our dancers come on their own, so we switch partners for each dance and laugh and smile our way through each tune.

Come alone or bring a friend (or two) to our fun and social evening and including tea and biscuits!

The club meets on Tuesdays from 8-10pm September – June in one of the village halls. See the calendar page for details.

Any questions – please have a look at our Frequently Asked Questions page, or drop us an email.
